’Mbiya’ simply means ‘clay pot’ in Nyanja & Chichewa languages, which are spoken in Eastern Zambia. This part of the word holds a special place in my heart, after living and working there in the safari industry and many visits. It is here where I feel I am my true authentic self and nothing brings me greater peace than sitting on the Luangwa river watching elephants walk by. 

I started doing pottery in 2023, after 5 years back in the UK and 2 children, I needed to do something to spark a passion again. It started as a hobby but quickly became an obsession. I soon realised I needed to start finding new homes for my pieces when my house couldn’t fit anymore pottery in!
